Aja La’Starr Owens

A Councilwoman for Jennings’ Fourth Ward,

Aja La’Starr Owens is working to make life better for her constituents. She also works for Congresswoman Cori Bush in her district office, and Owens is an author of a number of books. She has published poetry books, but she primarily writes children’s books that highlight the experiences of kids of color. Owens and her sister donate many of their books to make sure that any reader who would like to read her books can do so.
