After Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown, Jr., 18, in 2014,

Michael’s parents, Michael Brown, Sr., Lesley McSpadden, and stepmother Cal Brown, have worked to preserve his legacy and never let such injustice occur again. They have founded the Michael Brown Chosen for Change Foundation, which supports families who have lost loved ones to police violence and police brutality. The family also holds a memorial weekend every year to celebrate peoples’ lives that were cut short.
