Alderman Michael Browning

Michael Browning is running for Ninth Ward Alderman because he sees that St. Louis has a lot of work to do, and he has proven that he rises to challenges by doing the hard work.

Michael has devoted his time to knocking doors all over St. Louis City (and beyond) in support of progressive candidates. He has spoken with and heard the thoughts and concerns of people in neighborhoods like Wells-Goodfellow, Hamilton Heights, Holly Hills, Princeton Heights, and Dutchtown. Through his work in his community and as Outreach Director for the St. Louis Young Democrats, he has spent long hours talking to people in Forest Park Southeast, the Central West End, and King's Oak.

The challenges facing the City are large, systemic, and decades in the making. It will take a person who knows how to work with others, put himself into the work, and take whatever steps are necessary to do a good job. It will take someone who is good with people, quick to respond, and listens to their constituent's needs. Michael has already shown he has what it takes to be that person for the new 9th Ward.

Why this campaign is #PoweredByMOPolitical: Michael did not come through the old system of politics. Instead, he’s a transplant who has grown to be passionate about St. Louis for what it is - and just as importantly, what it can be, Michael is dedicated to making systemic change, one step at a time, and is seeking to join and help build a coalition of progressive alders who will bring St. Louis’ government into the 21st century. We’re all-in to help make that happen for our City.
